San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association Public Benefit Fund Community Empowerment Through Law
The San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association Public Benefit Fund is dedicated to fostering justice, equality, and opportunity for Latino/a/x and diverse communities throughout San Diego. Established as a separate 501(c)(3) entity, the Public Benefit Fund was created to build a direct bridge between the legal profession and the broader community — promoting diversity in education and on the bench and bar.
Through transformative programs like Project L.E.A.D., the Trial Advocacy Program, and En La Comunidad, the Fund uplifts fifth graders, high school students, and families through education, legal advocacy, and community outreach — addressing critical needs in areas like tenant rights, immigration, and employee rights.
Rooted in a legacy that dates back to 1976, the Fund carries forward the mission of San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association with the same spirit of service and advocacy that has defined the organization for nearly fifty years. It is entirely volunteer-driven — powered by attorneys who pursued law to help others overcome the very obstacles they once faced themselves.
